Half term update

Severn Class Blog…

Wow! What an exciting time to be in Severn Class. The class assembly on Friday, sharing all our work in the Vikings was a great success. It showcased our work on Viking longboats, weapons, clothes, writing and Viking Gods. It was enjoyed by Mrs Nicol, Cotswold class and those parents that were lucky enough to be able to attend. Well done EVERYBODY! (Photographs to follow).

In English and for topic we now turn our attention towards another time period in history and the Anglo Saxons…

Maths has seen confidence growing with our problem solving and reasoning challenges and children are moving on from place value to study methods for addition and subtraction as well as shape work on Wednesdays.

We are saying goodbye (for now) and good luck to Mrs Butcher this week with her baby due soon and are happy to welcome Mrs Redgewell to teach the class on a Wednesday morning.

Bikeability for Years 4 and 5 begins next week. Year 4’s on Monday and Year 5’s for the rest of the week.

Thank you too to all those that made a poppy decoration for our in-school display. The children completed some writing last week in English to increase their understanding of why it is so important to remember those who fought for our freedom.
